The Bel Air Community Chorus, a program of the Bel Air Rec Council (BARC), is thrilled to return for our holiday program. They will perform some holiday favorites including The Hallelujah Chorus, Sing, Sing Noel, Sleigh Ride and other seasonal music.
This free, all-ages concert will be presented at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bel Air, MD.
Per BARC and St. Matthew’s Policy all concert attendees will be required to wear masks. If you do not have one, one will be provided to you. We thank you for your cooperation in keeping the chorus and community healthy and safe.
The 31st annual Bel Air Christmas Parade begins at 3:30 pm on Sunday, December 5, 2021– down Main Street at Churchville Road to Lee Street and ending at Hickory Avenue. Prior to the parade, there will be a concert on Main Street in front of the Courthouse beginning at 2:30 pm. Community bonfire and singalong in Shamrock Park with free cookies and hot chocolate at 4:15 pm and the Tree Lighting at Town Hall at approximately 4:45. Scheduled to appear: Stilt walkers and acrobats, local high school marching bands, costumed characters and mascots, beauty queens, dancers, floats, musical groups and even some special equestrian guests, ending with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus! Event is weather permitting. In the case of bad weather, the event will be cancelled and not rescheduled.
Join Harford Artists Gallery for their annual Holiday Open House and find something for everyone on your list! In addition to their regular exhibit, the gallery will feature many smaller items ideal for gift giving at the holidays. While there, enjoy cookies and cider and meet some of our local artists!
Get into the Christmas spirit with a trip through the magical and unique train garden designed especially for Bel Air! The garden features a lighted Christmas train, ice skaters, a ferris wheel, a circus and plenty of town and countryside scenes that are sure to delight people of every age! You can even participate in a scavenger hunt to find items located throughout the garden. Admission is free. the train garden will be open Saturdays November 27, December 4, 11 and 18 from 2pm – 8pm and Sunday, December 5th from 3pm – 8pm (parking and access is limited this day between 3-5pm due to the Bel Air Christmas Parade).

This holiday season, visit downtown Bel Air and enjoy its festive Winter Wonderland! Take in beautiful light displays on Main Street, visit with Santa, plus enjoy horse drawn carriage rides, funnel cakes, hot chocolate and live music.
Downtown will be shining bright with special light displays at the Frederick Ward Armory Park, the Harford County Sheriff’s building and at the Harford County Courthouse. Lights will be on every evening from 5-11pm starting November 27, 2021 and through January 2, 2022. Extended store hours and special events will occur each Saturday November 27th – December 18th.
Horse drawn carriage rides will be available each Saturday, November 27 – December 18 from the front of the Bel Air Armory. In person reservations are required, space is limited and rides are available on a first come-first served basis. Enjoy shopping in our downtown stores or grab dinner with your family while you wait!

The Bel Air Downtown Alliance is excited to offer 2 Drive-In Movie Nights in December 2021! This is a great opportunity to hop in the car and head out to downtown Bel Air with family & friends. December 11th will feature The Santa Clause and December 18th will feature A Christmas Story. The parking lot will open at 6:00pm and the movie will begin at 6:45. Advance tickets are required.

Rejoice! A Community Choral Celebration will be presented by the Maryland Center for the Arts. Call to be arranged between 1pm and 2:40 for each participating group. Performance will begin at 3:00 p.m. CDC Covid protocols in effect on Dec. 12 will be observed for singers and audience.
Ballet Chesapeake has developed a Nutcracker Outreach Program for preschool children held at the Bel Air Armory in December.
Children ages 2 through 6 years old are invited from area child care facilities, preschool programs, Kindergarten programs, and the general public to attend an age appropriate performance that introduces children to the magic of live theater.
This show includes excerpts from the Nutcracker ballet which are performed as a narrator explains the story of Clara and her magical toy. After the performance, costumed dancers meet the children and lead them in a group dance class.
For attending schools: Should the number of children or adults attending change, please call Ballet Chesapeake (410-877-0777) as soon as possible to update our records and ensure correct spaces reserved and amounts charged. Any additional children or parents without a prior reserved space at the performance will be turned away. Transportation will be the responsibility of the students’ school. No refunds or exchanges.
