The garden features a lighted Christmas train, ice skaters, and plenty of town and countryside scenes that are sure to delight people of every age! Admission is free. The train garden will be open starting the Friday after Thanksgiving during the following hours:

December 7 @ 3-9pm – Mt. Ararat Lodge will hold an official holiday lodge lighting at 6 pm. This event is open to the public and free to attend. At the Christmas Train Garden, cookies, popcorn, & hot chocolate will be served.

Experience the town of Bel Air’s Winter Wonderland activities and celebrate the holiday season with the library! We will have crafts, refreshments, and music, as well as special items to check out through our Traveling Library van. Supported by the Bel Air Friends of HCPL.
The Society’s annual Candlelight Christmas Tour returns with docent Julie Brasch. Participants will enjoy Christmas stories of days gone by, caroling, delicious treats, and much more. Tours will begin on Friday, November 28, and run every Friday and Saturday until December 26.
Nighttime Walking Tours are weather-dependent. If the outdoor temperature at 6 pm is below 32°F, the event will be moved indoors to the Hays House Museum for a virtual tour and celebration.
Tickets are $20 and non-refundable unless the Historical Society cancels the tour. Tickets are limited and must be purchased online at least 24 hours before the tours at www.harfordhistory.org.

The 35th annual Bel Air Christmas Parade begins at 3:30 pm on Sunday, December 7, 2025 – down Main Street at Churchville Road to Lee Street and ending at Hickory Avenue. Community bonfire and singalong in Shamrock Park with food trucks, cookies and hot chocolate at 4:15 pm and the Tree Lighting at approximately 4:45. Scheduled to appear: Stilt walkers and acrobats, local high school marching bands, costumed characters and mascots, beauty queens, dancers, floats, musical groups and even some special equestrian guests, ending with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus! Immediately following the parade, join us in Shamrock Park and help us begin the tradition of lighting the 30-foot Norway spruce Christmas tree! Event is weather permitting. In the case of bad weather, the event will be cancelled and not rescheduled.
Following the Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting, visit the Mt. Ararat Lodge Lighting and Christmas Train Garden at Mt. Ararat Lodge at 136 E. Gordon Street. from 3-9 pm. Mt.
