This holiday season, visit downtown Bel Air and enjoy its festive Winter Wonderland! Take in beautiful light displays on Main Street, visit with Santa, plus enjoy horse drawn carriage rides, funnel cakes, hot chocolate and live music.

Downtown will be shining bright with special light displays at the Frederick Ward Armory Park, the Harford County Sheriff’s building and at the Harford County Courthouse. Lights will be on every evening from 5-11pm starting November 26, 2022 and through January 1, 2023. Extended store hours and special events will occur each Saturday November 26th – December 17th.

Horse drawn carriage rides will be available each Saturday, November 26 – December 17 from the Bel Air Armory. In person reservations are required, space is limited and rides are available on a first come-first served basis. Enjoy shopping in our downtown stores or grab dinner with your family while you wait!

The Bel Air Downtown Alliance is excited to offer a Drive-In Movie Night in December 2022! This is a great opportunity to hop in the car and head out to downtown Bel Air with family & friends. The featured movie will be Jack Frist starring Michael Keaton and Kelly Preston (1998).  The parking lot will open at 6:00pm and the movie will begin at 6:45. Advance tickets are required.

Join us this holiday season at The John Carroll School for The Nutcracker! Presented to you by our College Preparatory Dance Program and The John Carroll School Ballet Academy, this production will delight an audience of all ages. First-rate costuming and choreography set to the beautiful classical score will get you in the holiday spirit. Show length approx. 1.5 hours (including intermission). Be sure to visit our Nutcracker boutique and also take a photo with one of our cast members! Email Program Director, Laura Ward-Moran at lwardmoran@johncarroll.org with any questions.

You will be in the holiday spirit once you come and experience this gorgeous production showcasing the John Carroll Ballet Academy student dancers which is sure to put a smile on your face. Seating is not assigned. Tickets are non-refundable.

Get into the Christmas spirit with a trip through the magical and unique train garden designed especially for Bel Air! The garden features a lighted Christmas train, ice skaters, a  circus and plenty of town and countryside scenes that are sure to delight people of every age! You can even participate in a scavenger hunt to find items located throughout the garden. Admission is free. The train garden will be open starting the Friday after Thanksgiving during the following hours:

November 26: 2:00pm – 8:30pm

December 1: 5:00pm – 8:00pm

The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. “The Sound of Music” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization. www.concordtheatricals.com
