29th Annual Bel Air Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting

December 2, 2018, 2:30 PM – 4:45 PM @ Downtown Bel Air
Concert on Main Street in front of the Courthouse begins at 2:30 pm. Parade begins at 3:30 pm – down Main Street at Churchville Road to Lee Street and ending at Hickory Avenue. Community bonfire and singalong in Shamrock Park with free cookies and hot chocolate at 4:00 pm and the Tree Lighting at Town Hall at 4:45 pm. Scheduled to appear: Stiltwalkers and acrobats, local high school marching bands, costumed characters and mascots, beauty queens, dancers, floats, musical groups and even some special equestrian guests, ending with The Living Christmas Tree and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus! Event is weather permitting. In the case of bad weather, the event will be cancelled and not rescheduled.
Holiday Paint and Sip Night at the Museum

Thursday, December 6, 2018; 7 – 9 pm
Painting and wine with local artists, Sue Niewenhaus and Meg Algreen. Create a holiday themed showpiece on slate to keep or give away as a gift.

Music for a Festive Season is the title of the SSO’s ever-popular Holiday Concert, which will be performed on Saturday, December 8th. The concert will contain many popular Christmas-time tunes, plus Bel Air native, harpist Sara Magill, will join us for Handel’s wonderful Harp Concerto in B-flat Major! The concert will include such well-known pieces as Berlin’s “White Christmas” and Torme’s “Christmas Song” (“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire”). Larry Noto will narrate “The Night Before Christmas” and the audience will have two chances to sing along with the SSO!
