Christmas Train Garden @ Mt. Ararat Lodge #44
Dec 12 @ 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Get into the Christmas spirit with a trip through the magical and unique train garden designed especially for Bel Air! The garden features a lighted Christmas train, ice skaters, and plenty of town and countryside scenes that are sure to delight people of every age!  Admission is free. The train garden will be open starting the Friday after Thanksgiving during the following hours:

November 28 @ 5-9pm

November 29 @ 2-9pm

December 5 @ 5-9pm

December 6 @ 2-9pm

December 7 @ 3-9pm – Mt. Ararat Lodge will hold an official holiday lodge lighting at 6 pm. Following the lighting, Santa will be available in the lodge room, where children can sit with Santa and have pictures taken with him. Each child can also choose a FREE toy. This event is open to the public and free to attend. At the Christmas Train Garden, cookies, popcorn, & hot chocolate will be served.

Spirits of Christmas Past: Candlelight Christmas Tour @ Historical Society of Harford County
Dec 12 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

The Society’s annual Candlelight Christmas Tour returns with docent Julie Brasch. Participants will enjoy Christmas stories of days gone by, caroling, delicious treats, and much more. Tours will begin on Friday, November 28, and run every Friday and Saturday until December 26.

Nighttime Walking Tours are weather-dependent. If the outdoor temperature at 6 pm is below 32°F, the event will be moved indoors to the Hays House Museum for a virtual tour and celebration.

Tickets are $20 and non-refundable unless the Historical Society cancels the tour. Tickets are limited and must be purchased online at least 24 hours before the tours at www.harfordhistory.org. 

 

The Nutcracker at John Carroll School @ The John Carroll School

The John Carroll School’s College Preparatory Dance Program and Ballet Academy are thrilled to present “The Nutcracker” from December 12 to 14, 2025. Based on the timeless story ballet by Marius Petipa and featuring Tchaikovsky’s enchanting musical score, we invite you to embark on a journey to the magical Land of Sweets this holiday season. Immerse yourself in a breathtaking visual experience filled with exquisite costumes and mesmerizing choreography as we celebrate the spirit of the holidays together. This performance will please an audience of all ages.

The Belle Aire Holiday Market is an open-air, holiday-themed artisan market that is an extension of our Belle Aire Market series! The Belle Aire Holiday Market is held on the 4 Saturdays from after Thanksgiving to before Christmas at 121 S Main St in Downtown Bel Air from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Featured at the market are dozens of unique artisan vendors selling everything from home decor to jewelry and body care products and more! After you’ve shopped with us, make sure to check out the rest of downtown’s shops and restaurants – Shop Small this holiday season (and all year round!).

The Belle Aire Holiday Market is a rain or shine event. The only circumstances which will lead to cancellation are those that are severe and/or life threatening weather conditions that may jeopardize our vendors and patrons; a decision to cancel will be made as far in advance as possible. In that case, the Bel Air Downtown Alliance will post a message to their website and Facebook and Instagram pages.

Winter Wonderland @ Downtown Bel Air

We are so excited to bring another year of spectacular holiday lights, live entertainment, horse and carriage rides, train gardens, strolling princesses, Santa visits, artisan festival markets, and so much more to our beloved downtown Bel Air.
Join us November 29 from 5-8pm for opening night and lighting celebration. Come downtown for dinner, shopping, and strolling along Main Street.
Come for the full immersion on December 6, when all of Main Street will be closed to traffic and strolling hand in hand is truly a delight. This is also a very special night for holiday shopping at our Winter Wonderland Artisan Festival at The Armory and at our partner event, Bel Air Christkindl Markt at 2 S. Bond Street. Both from 2-7pm.
Visit us again on December 13 from 5-8pm for more fun and downtown entertainment.
LIGHTS are on display from Nov 29, 2025, to Jan 3, 2026.
Horse and carriage rides are free on a first come-first served basis. Reservations start at 4pm in front of The Armory. You must reserve in person. Donations are welcomed and ALL proceeds go to the care of the horses.
